  The Assenza painting school is a private art school that exists since 1986. Concentrating exclusively on painting and drawing, it offers formations, workshops and courses – with work shows and exhibitions.

  The school is carried by a group of five artists offering their experience and know how; moving and developing with the questions of painting today. A central theme is the colour itself: Colour as movement, colour as tonality, colour between light and dark, colour as bridge between the inner and outer worlds.

  The painting school is situated close to the city of Basel. Basel in Switzerland is the meeting point between France, Germany and Switzerland. As a culturel city it has much to offer, especially for the arts ( Art Basel, Foundation Beyeler, Kunstmuseum, Gegenwartsmuseum, Vitra Design Museum). As a university city it offers good conditions for student life. With around fifty students the school is small and personal, giving plenty of space for individual development. Although teaching is in German, it is possible to make a start with English.
