The title of the current exhibition says it all. Signer explores the mysterious shadows and secrets of some of his favourite places, from San Francisco to New York, from Lisbon to Zurich. His beautifully handmade, warm-toned, black and white prints remain rich in contrast but the mood is perhaps mellower and more contemplative this time.
Born in Zurich in 1956, Signer has been a photographer for nearly 25 years and has travelled extensively during that time. His work reflects his passion for the paintings of Edward Hopper and the dark, shadowy world of film noir movies.
